Safe Sauna Use Agreement


*If you are making a booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make all users aware of these terms and conditions and to practice safe sauna use, as well as making others aware of what to bring and other useful information

  • Use the sauna at your own risk. Check with your GP first if you have any concerns and if any of the below apply to you:
    • If you’re pregnant 
    • If you’ve had a heart attack or stroke 
    • If you’re taking any medications 
    • If you have cardiovascular conditions and/or problems 
    • You have epilepsy 
    • You have asthma or breathing conditions 
    • High or low blood pressure 
    • If you have arterial disease 
    • If you have joint or muscle injury 
  • Children under 14 may not use the sauna, and under 18s must be supervised 1:1 by a parent or guardian at all times
  • Alcohol and smoking or vaping are not permitted in the sauna, or in the swim village compound.  
  • We reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons.​ 
  • The sauna is wood fired and gets extremely hot. Don’t touch any metal parts in the sauna, the stove or rocks, or add logs. Let us know if you need a top-up
  • Stay hydrated! Drinking water is available-make sure you drink before and after sauna
  • Swimwear must be worn in the sauna at all times- nudity is not permitted.
  • If you feel unwell in the sauna, let us know straight away
  • Be mindful of your sauna companions-keep conversation low and relaxing
  • When adding steam- löyly- check with your sauna buddies first and use the ladle at arm’s length to prevent scalding
  • Use the sauna timer and clock to stick to your timeslot- we recommend 5-15 min sessions, and no longer than 20 minutes
  • Enter and exit safely, and close the door promptly to preserve the sauna heat-work as a team to keep the steam!
  • Wear sliders or footwear and take them off before entering the sauna.
  • ALWAYS sit on a towel in the sauna-spares are avavilable on loan at the desk
  • Remove any large or hanging items of jewellery, watches and glasses in the sauna
  • Relax and enjoy! Your hosts are here to help you get the best from your session
  • Lake Swimming/Plunge and Dipping is done so completely at your own risk and is NOT covered by our Insurance Policy
