FAQs

Let us answer your questions!

Below are the answers to some of our most commonly asked questions.

How do I find you?

You can find us at West Lake, next to Wired on Wheels cafe, and by the adventure centre building with the climbing wall. Signs in Colwick Park have our logo on to direct you to us.

Can I swim at Colwick without a WholeHealth membership?

You are very welcome to swim as a guest at any of our lifeguarded, supervised open water swim sessions. Guest swims cost £10. No booking is required, just pay cash or card at the desk and we will get you swimming
Outside of these sessions swimming is NOT permitted at Colwick Park, and you will be asked to leave by the park rangers if you swim outside these times

Can I use the WholeHealth sauna without a WholeHealth membership?

Sauna bookings can only be ade by WholeHealth members through our booking app. If you are not a member and turn up, you may get lucky and get a space in a sauna session if they are not full. We will do our best to fit you in! Non-members pay a premium, for the sauna, so the cost is £15 for a 30 minute session, and £20 for a 45 minute session if there is space available. Please read our Sauna Guidelines before you come and bring a small spare towel to sit on and flip flops/sliders

How do I use a guest pass?

Generate a code in the app by clicking the avatar in the top left of the page when you open the timetable. Simply bring it along to any regular swim session along with your guest. Make sure you have booked yourself in for the session you want to bring your guest to. Show the code at the desk and they join the swim session for FREE. Guest passes can be used for regular swim sessions, but not saunas or special events.

Can I bring a friend to the sauna?

As the sauna is becoming more popular, and many of you like to bring visiting friends or family members to enjoy this special experience, we have made it easier to book a session for someone who is not a WholeHealth Member. If you want to book a friend a place in the sauna with you, there is now a tab on the timetable page called Group Booking. If you click on it, you will see a button to ‘Add Member’. Select ‘GUEST’ in the dropdown menu and complete your guest’s details. You can then make a group booking for yourself and your guest for the session you want. The cost of the guest session will automatically come out of your credit balance.

Parents can now also do this to bring a child or young person to the lake by selecting ‘Junior Membership’

Do I need a towfloat/swim shoes/wetsuit/swim hat?

The only thing you need is whatever you want to wear to swim in. We strongly recommend that you buy your own towfloat if you are going to swim regularly. We will lend you a tow float if you don’t have one and as long as they are available.

Anything else you choose to wear is your choice. WholeHealth swimmers wear a variety of swim attire for their own personal comfort. As well as a costume you may choose to wear a wetsuit (long or shortie), neoprene swim shoes and gloves, leggings, rash vest, but it is completely up to you!

Are there showers at the lake?

No. We have very basic mixed gender changing space with some undercover areas and hooks for belongings in our swim compound. A large towel or towel robe and loose fitting post-swim clothing will help you change quickly after swimming and keep warm.

Are there toliets at the lake?

There are currently no toilets in our changing area as we are off grid, and do not have running water. There are toilets provided by the City Council in the park about 500m from our changing area and the cafe, but they are only open in park opening times. This is not ideal in such a big park, and we advise you contact the park manager Ashley to help us request his support, particularly if this is an access issue for you.
