Open Water Lake Swimming

SAFE, SUPPORTED OPEN WATER SWIMMING

WholeHealth runs safe, supported open water swim sessions for our members at the City Council-owned Colwick Lake in Nottingham.

We pride ourselves on our welcoming, professional, inclusive sessions, at which all are welcome.

We offer a great annual membership to our amazing lake community. WholeHealth Membership is £40 for the year, which includes access to ALL our swims, our lakeside wood fired saunas and all our events and happenings.

Members may book in Junior members or friends who are not members through the app.

Sessions are booked via our WholeHealth app. As soon as you sign up, you’ll receive an email with your membership number which is your password to log in, buy credits and start booking your swims.

Swim sessions are £6 for Members, and £10 for guests.

Non-members can come to any regular session, and pay £10 cash or card at the lake for a swim.

We run regular beginner sessions every Tuesday evening at 6:15pm if you want some extra encouragement, advice and support for your first lake dip.

Our Summer Swim Timetable runs from 1st April to 31st October, and our winter timetable from 1st Nov-31st March

Our regular Swim Session times for the summer season are:

  • Tuesday Loop Swim 5pm-7pm*
  • Tuesday Beginners Swim*** 6:15pm (summer only)
  • Wednesday DawnSquad Morning Swim 7am -9am (8am-9am Winter)
  • Wednesday Mindfulness Dip 10:00am – 11:00am and 12noon-1pm**
  • Thursday Loop Swim* 5pm-7pm
  • Thursday ParkSwim: Open Water Timed Swim**** 6:30-7pm
  • Friday DawnSquad Morning Swim 7am-9am* (8am-9am Winter)
  • Friday Mindfulness Dip 10:00am – 11am and 12noon-1pm**
  • Saturday Post-Parkrun & Morning Swim* 9:30am -11:30am*
  • Sunday Morning Swim* 10am-12noon*

Sessions run year-round, our timetable changes slightly in the winter/summer season

*Our Loop Swim sessions offer the opportunity for up to 2 hours swimming, with a long course loop of 600m, watched over by our experienced and friendly lifeguard team. 

**Our Mindfulness Dips are for swimmers who want a quieter dip for relaxation and meditation in the company of others, with our team to take care of your safety in the water while you enjoy the Lake however you want to. This new swim opportunity is designed for people who wish to immerse and enjoy the lake for peace and restoration, rather than swimming laps.

***Our Beginners Swim is a gentle 30 minute introduction to Open Water session with coaches and water safety team on hand to give tips, advice, encouragement and support

*Our Parkswim: Open Water Swim Training is a timed 600m swim training session overseen by our Open Water coaches to help you improve your open water skills and fitness
